BICYCLE RACING IN NEBRASKA
In recent years, rides for the Great Plains Bicycling Club have been oriented towards touring and recreational
riding, not training for racing. Our Club rides have varied in length from less than 20
miles to usually 50-70 miles with occasional centuries, but the pace is not at a
hard training
pace. Plus, the Club doesn't sponsor any competitive events.
It is certainly possible that the Club could add some faster paced rides
suitable for training and identify them as such, but we'd need to have the
riders interested in having them. If you are interested in doing something
of this nature, please review the page that explains how
our rides are selected and then contact our Ride
Director.
Our page that identifies all the local
cycling organizations that we know of contains references to some that are
engaged in racing. In addition, the www.NebraskaCyling.org site contains a wealth of information on racing teams and events in and near
Nebraska. Check it out if cycle racing is your interest.
